How To Propagate Roses
Learning how to propagate roses is much easier than it is believed. There are several methods of rose propagation: rooting cuttings in soil or water, growing from seeds, layering or air layering, and whip grafting or t-budding. Professional growers usually use the last two methods. I will share here all tips and tricks that helped me start successfully growing my own roses.
There are several advantages in propagating your own roses. First of all, it’s free; second, you can increase the number of rare roses that are sold in limited quantities; third, you can have “backup copies” of your favourite roses, and I recommend making them for everyone who is growing roses in a cold climate. Besides, roses look best when they are planted in groups, and “you can never have too many roses.”
